More than 20 years ago, Luismi Lopez and Adela Ortiz start their adventure in the restaurant business by taking over the local tavern previously run by Luismi’s parents, native from Linares. Little by little, having noticed the limited gastronomic offer in town, they incorporate some tapas to their bill of fare, until they decide to open a proper restaurant, with a proper cuisine that would make the best use of the quality and variety of local produce. And so Arrieros opens its doors in 1997, quickly acquiring quite a reputation that has lasted all these years. Turned into a reference of Andalusian cuisine, Luismi Lopez has managed to give letters of nobility to the cuisine of his homeland, and at the same time, modernize it, enriching it with nuances and delicacy. Master in the art of preparing Iberian meats with the flavors of yesteryear, Luismi is at the same time a partner of the main local producers, an example for the new generation of chefs in the area and one of the best ambassadors of the province. The specialized press and gastronomic guides recognize his long evolution: from the prestigious Michelin guide, which distinguishes Arrieros since 2007 as the essential gourmet stop in the area, to the Repsol guide, which has included it in 2018, calling it “important surprise”.
